ACLX started in Aaron’s garage around 20 years ago! ACLX is now a reputable and respected event services company. With a team of four full-time experts and a bunch of hard working technicians, we are busy all year round. We are contractors for Clarence Street Theatre, The Meteor, WINTEC venues, Southwell School, The Verandah and we do every show for Hamilton Operatic Society. View our Portfolio. We've grown pretty fast over the last five years and we now have an extensive range of services, including:

COVID-19 minimisation and protection - ACLX is a small, specialised team. Possible COVID-19 infection poses a risk to its employees, the public we work with and the continuity of our business. We work in environments which include large public gatherings, schools and theatres. As such, it has been identified that having unvaccinated employees or working in close contact with unvaccinated persons poses an unnecessary risk to everyone’s health. Therefore, it is our policy from November 1st not to expose our team to these avoidable risks. From November 1st 2021, we will only operate in an environment where everyone who is eligible has had at least their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. From January 1st 2022, we will only work with persons who are fully vaccinated.

ACLX is a fast-growing hire and event services company located in Hamilton, servicing Waikato and Bay of Plenty. Our team strives to live our values every day (respect, honesty, transparency, creativity and kindness), and we’re looking for a key cog in the wheel who can join the team and hit the ground running.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Junior Technician will work across the technical departments. The role would suit someone who has finished a relevant tertiary qualification, or has a few proven years experience in the industry. The intent is that this role is an entry point into the team at ACLX, with the team at ACLX supporting the successful applicant development as a technician.
Deliver quality lighting, audio and AV service to ACLX’s clients
Lead on small events
Help with workshop operations
Develop their skills via one-on-one training with the team and access to training ACLX provide

So what do we need from you?
Minimum 3 years experience in the event & entertainment industry or a relevant qualification
Full NZ Driver Licence
Experience in audio, lighting or vision
Excellent IT skills, including powerpoint and Qlab, and an ability to quickly learn new systems and other software
Excellent communication skills
Be calm under pressure, be able to problem solve and have excellent time management skills
Be a self-starter and also able to work in a team and at times lead a team
An open mind and willingness to develop your skills across a range of platforms.

As is the nature of the industry, you will need to be flexible and available after hours and weekends. You must have a Full NZ Driver’s Licence and be eligible to work in New Zealand. It would be awesome, but it's not obligatory, if you had an EWP certificate.
